AMONSETHIS

English biography : It's in June 2007 that Julien Tournoud and Raphaël Fascio meet by chance and give birth to the Âmon-Sethis project. Raphaël, a drummer from Montpellier recently arrived in Grenoble, progressive metal fan, meets PtitJu, singing at that time both in HELLIXXIR, which just published their first studio album at Brennus Music, and in ERATO, cosmopolitan heavy metal cover band of the Grenoble area. Keen on bringing life to a musical project fusioning progressive metal, heavy trash and Egyptian sounds, Ptitju wishes to materialize this 8 years-old concept-album. Raphaël gets in touch with Olivier Billoint, a guitar player influenced notably by John Petrucci and Yngwie Malmsteen, who seems interested in the project. Ptitju, on his side, proposes to Maurizio Colombo, already playing with him in ERATO, the role of bass player in the future project. The band ÂMON-SETHIS is working hard to write a concept-album with multiple influences. You are going to be surprised. In february 2009, Raphaël Fascio leaves the band after the recording of the EP 3 titles « the legend of the seventh dynasty ». He is replaced by Pierre Dalban who is playing with the band MONKEY BIZNESS and also in NIGHTMARE as the second live drummer. The EP, out in october 2009 is very well welcomed on the metal scene. But the band is aware that the big purpose is to out the first part of the saga. AMONSETHIS enters in studio sessions in august 2010 to finally out of it in december 2010. Out the 19th of march 2011, the album, who contains 12 titles, is intitled « Part I | The prophecy » and is going to suprised you in many points. ________________________________________ Biographie française : C’est en Juin 2007 que le projet AMON-SETHIS voit le jour. Julien TOURNOUD, chanteur à l’époque dans HELLIXXIR qui venait de sortir son 1er album studio chez Brennus Music, voulait mettre à bien son propre projet musical mélangeant metal prog, heavy thrash et sonorités égyptiennes, souhaitant ainsi concrétiser un concept-album vieux de 8 ans. Aux côtés d'Olivier Billoint à la guitare, AMONSETHIS travaille d’arrache-pied pour écrire un concept-album aux multiples influences. En février 2009, le groupe enregistre le EP 3 titres « the legend of the seventh dynasty », sorte de synopsis de la saga d'AMONSETHIS. Le 3 titres, sortie en octobre 2009 est très bien accuelli sur la scène métal. Mais le groupe est un conscient que l’objectif majeur est de sortir le 1er opus de la saga. Après quelques changements de line-up, le groupe sort le premier volet de la trilogie en mars 2011, Part I – the prophecy et en a surpris en tout point…Il a été enrtegistré au IK STUDIO par Edddy DORIGNY et Maserisé au Masterdisk à New York par Andy Vandette (SLAYER, METALLICA, DAVID BOWIE...) Après une vingtaine de concerts mémorables en France et dans les pays limitrophes, en partageant l'affiche avec des groupes comme BLAZE BAYLEY, BLACK RAIN, NIGHTMARE, DARK MOOR ou encore TARCHON FIST, le groupe s'attache à la composition du 2ème volet de la trilogie, intitulé part II – The final struggle, prévue pour début 2014.
