NZ rock band Devilskin released their much anticipated debut album We Rise on July 11 2014 & went straight to the top of the NZ Album charts, #1 Album and #1 Kiwi Artist Album. We Rise remained in the top spots for 3 weeks running. We Rise was certified Gold within 2 weeks of release and is now certified Platinum which recognizes sales in excess of 15,000 units. We Rise is the first NZ rock album to hit this milestone since Shihad achieved it in 2013 with their album Killjoy released in 1995. Devilskin stomped onto the NZ rock scene with the infectious Little Pills and Never See The Light singles, and racking up over 900,000 YouTube hits. Start A Revolution gained extensive radio play and hit No 1 on the Rock FM airplay chart and remained No 1 for 4 weeks. Little Pills was voted into the No 2 position on The Rock FM 1000 countdown, a publicly voted chart. This is a massive achievement as this is the highest position EVER achieved by a NZ band or artist in the 18-year history of the chart. DEVILSKIN are a four piece band from Hamilton New Zealand formed in June 2010. DEVILSKIN have quickly gained a reputation for delivering high-energy performances with blistering sets, which are sonically exciting and compelling, resulting in mesmerizing rock events. The band members are; Jennie Skulander on Vocals, Nail on Lead Guitar, Paul Martin on Bass Guitar and Nic Martin on Drums. In a league all of their own DEVILSKIN write melodic songs layered with soul, passion and power. However what sets DEVILSKIN apart from others is not the drop dead beauty of Jennie Skulander nor her pin up inspired wardrobe, it is her captivating vocals. Jennie's incredible voice sweeps from whisper to roar, rips with power, drips with melody and captivates with sincerity. Jennie Skulander is simply THE best female rock vocalist in New Zealand today. DEVILSKIN deliver on all levels bassist Paul Martin and Nail on lead guitar are the red bearded ‘evil twins’ and they electrify with powerful, truculent bass coupled with searing guitar riffs. DEVILSKIN Nic Martin is the son of bassist Paul. Nic belies his age (18) and his spectacular drumming and driving beat lays the foundation for a gig not to be forgotten. 2014 was a memorable year, two massive tours We Rise album release tour and the Surrender Summer Tour resulted in Devilskin being the highest grossing band in New Zealand. Live At The Powerstation CD + DVD was released in November and instantly hit the Album chart debuting at #12, both albums have remained in the Top 40 chart since release, We Rise has remained in the chart for 36 weeks, recently headed back into the Top 10 during their summer tour. 2015 kicks off with the confirmed support for SLASH on his two NZ gigs in Hamilton and Wellington, festival appearances in Auckland and at HOMEGROWN in March where there will be 15,000 screaming fans. The band have made recent appearances at established festivals HomeGrown and West Fest which featured Rob Zombie, Korn, Megadeth and Five Finger Death Punch on the bill.
