Initial Mass

Initial Mass is a Los-Angeles based heavy rock band that plays a unique blend of progressive, dark and melodic music. The band is first and foremost dedicated to the art of songwriting with the goal of creating memorable, standalone songs that also serve as part of a greater, cohesive whole. They have a penchant for odd time signatures and complex arrangements, true to the characteristics of prog music but without the sterility that often accompanies the over-the-top virtuoso stigma. Their live performances are raw and powerful, yet confident and calculated. At their core, Initial Mass is a progressive band with punk rock sensibilities, limitless in their ability to draw from inspiration and create something new and uncompromising in their attitude and execution. The trio released their debut album, Time & Measure, in May 2016, and their sophomore, epic concept album, Tidal Force, in March 2018. Their third album, Bending Light, was released on July 26, 2019.
