Jajuba

I’m Jajuba — a songwriter, musician, and home-studio recording artist based in Tujunga, California.

I’ve never been very good at staying in one musical lane. My songs can wander through rock, folk, country, Americana, alternative, pop, jazz, metal, and just about anything else that sparks an idea. For me, that’s part of the fun — the song usually decides where it wants to go.

I’ve been playing guitar and bass for many years, and I write, record, produce, and experiment from my home studio. I’ve collected quite a few guitars and basses along the way, along with other instruments, amps, recording gear, and assorted noise makers that tend to find their way into a song sooner or later.

While I love the freedom of creating in my own studio, I don't do everything alone. I’m fortunate to have a great group of musician friends I can call on when a song needs another voice, another instrument, or simply someone to bounce an idea off of. That sometimes includes using AI. Sometimes the best part of making music is getting another perspective and seeing where the collaboration takes the song.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I moved to Southern California in 2000 and eventually settled in Tujunga, a small community tucked into the edge of the Angeles National Forest. I married my wonderful wife, Robyn, in 2009, and she’s been part of the journey ever since.

I’ve been making music for a long time, but I still approach every new song with the same curiosity that got me started. There are always more songs to write, sounds to discover, instruments to play, and musical directions to explore.

Thanks for listening.
