Joe Scholes

Joe Scholes is the laid-back acoustic project of Joachim Uerschels. The former singer and songwriter of the Ska band The Braces has been playing shows under the name Joe Scholes since 2006. The style? A love match between lush British songwriting and relaxed Jamaican rhythms. Guitarist Christian Hoelzel and Andreas Schulte on double bass join on stage when time lets them. The current set consists mainly of new and unreleased original songs, with the occasional cover version. Joe Scholes states that he hasn’t decided yet whether to record and publish the new songs in the stripped-down acoustic version or with a band. With The Braces, Joachim Uerschels has already recorded three full-length albums for English, German and Japanese record companies. "Prime Cut" (1990, Unicorn Records), "Blue Flame" (1991, Pork Pie Records), "Ska Got Soul" (2002, mini-album, Mad Butcher), "With A Heart Full Of Ska" (2006, 2 Tone Time Records) His songs have been covered by various bands around Europe and Asia.
