Biography:

Bonzo Terks makes jazz that straddles the line between arty & challenging and accessible & danceable.  Organ driven and melodic, but covering a ton of improvisational ground within the confines of a single song. 

Bonzo Terks began as a trio (Clark, Parcell and Van Duerm) in late 2009. They started off playing improvised music at their friends' house parties in Dekalb, IL.

In February 2010 the trio recorded a 'demo' in the attic of their apartment in Pilsen, a neighborhood on Chicago's lower west side. This was later released as "At Tick's'' This showcased the trio's profound ability to improvise freely.

Two years went by as a trio until the desire to expand the sound was overwhelming. Keenan Foley completes the quartet on alto saxophone while expanding the sonic capabilities.

By pushing the boundaries of composition and improvising together cohesively, Bonzo Terks excels in unique, original and creative music.

Fresh off the heels of their debut release "Quartet" Bonzo Terks strives to deliver where you'd least expect it. It is jazz with a startling youthful energy but make no mistake, the sound is grown-up, sophisticated, unwavering.
