Biography:

The original band (formerly known as Wednesday Night 12 Pack) was born on a September day in 2008 in the spare bedroom of drummer Michael Staudt's suburban Columbus abode.

The band name originated from the tradition of bringing a 12-pack of brew....er, Diet Coke, to each Wednesday evening practice. Originally consisting of Staudt on drums/vocals, Josh Smith on guitar, and Brandon Lewis on guitar, the three began as a once a week jam session to let loose from the monotony that is a 9-5 and a windowless cubicle. Andy Shipley joined quickly on bass in an effort to leave behind the boring corporate caricature he had become and follow his ambition of becoming a rockstar. This rounded out the original lineup of the band. Over the next year WN12P developed a solid foundation to become a successful cover band, however something was still missing.

Fast forward to October of 2009 and the addition of lead vocalist Art Piatt and the birth of Shallowtail. Within a few short months, Shallowtail has exploded onto the Columbus music scene, playing packing the house at top Columbus venues such as The LC, Flanagans, On The Rocks, Arlington Cafe, and many more. We have also expanded outr fan base with shows in Kentucky and Cleveland, and are looking forward to traveling even further to spread our love of music and performance. After our quick start, Josh unfortunately was not able to continue being a member of the band. We welcomed Howard Williams in to the fold. Howard had already filled in a few shows with us, so it was a natural progression to have him bring his vast guitar skills and charming personality to the band full time. We look forward to playing our high energy rock, our emotional ballads, and get-get get up and dance numbers, and enjoying our sexy dancers that always grace our shows with their presence. We also love to put our own twist on popular songs, almost as much as we like our hair gel to be eye candy for our lady friends.
