Joel Rosenberger
Folk • Saratoga Springs, NY
Joel Rosenberger plays the old stuff...hymns and folk tunes, and traditional music that predates the 20th century. It all started back around 2005-2006, when Joel decided to plug his piano into his PC, perform some old hymns, and release his recordings as a podcast. Due to the unexpected international response, he kept at it, releasing several CDs, as well as sheet music, and the rest is history. Today he continues to find new ways to play the old tunes. When Joel isn't recording, he enjoys playing music at his little church in the Saratoga Springs, New York area, just shy of the Adirondacks. He is also well known in the local traditional music community as a multi-instrumentalist, picking and squeezing Celtic music on the Irish tenor banjo and accordion and performing with other musicians at local venues.

Lyrics

Oh Shenandoah, I long to see you, Away, you rolling river, Oh Shenandoah, I long to see you, Away, we're bound away Across the wide Missouri. Oh Shenandoah, I love your daughter Away, you rolling river. For her I'd cross, Your roaming waters. Away, we're bound away, Across the wide Missouri.
