Ses

Born and raised on the Northside of Austin, Texas on September 5, 1986, Ses began his music career reflecting on street remedies that plagued his since childhood. With a self-released nine track album (originally 12 tracks) detailing gritty street tales and personal content entitled "Built From the Struggle", with the assistance of J-No & Crooked T, two local producers, the record was completed but lightly promoted. Due to several conflicts within the collaborating team an attempt to push the album or create a follow-up dwindled. They parted ways and Ses continued writing tracks for his next project tentatively titled "The Great Tape". Although it was a quiet release, Ses later agreed to be featured on fellow artist Omen Wolfgang's album, "The Wolfgang Chronicles", after giving him a copy of "Built From the Struggle". Based on the lyrical content of the record, Wolfgang gave Ses the opportunity to record the track and meet Lowell Rice, founder of 508 Park Avenue Records, in the summer of 2009. That September, after placing a few random verses on wax and completing one original song of his own, he was approached by Lowell, to pursue his official debut. The majority of the tracks Ses created over the years made the final cut along with several new songs. Ses eventually changed the title of the album from "The Great Tape" to "Monster Come Alive" as recording continued throughout the beginning of 2010. As the collection of songs took shape, Ses found himself wanting the album to resonate a hopefullness that was not displayed on "Built From the Struggle". Instead of vividly depicting a harsh reality leading to an unknown end, "Monster Come Alive" focuses on personal hardships in the past while well aware of a chance for peace in the future. Recording sessions for the album wrapped in the summer of 2010 with an expected released date set for early 2011.
