Smokin’ Hogs have been on the Ipswich music scene since 2004. They are a three-piece band consisting of; Peter Bond – lead guitar and vocals, Steve (Cosmic) Soer – bass guitar and vocals and Keef Shepherd – drums.

 

The music of the Hogs would best be described as rockin’ Rhythm and Blues. The band plays mainly their own songs with a few blues classics thrown in and played in their own style.

 

The Hogs are an exciting and authentic live act and like to generate energy on stage with an electric and visual stage show with a nod to the British Blues boom of the 1960’s.

 

This year the Hogs were given the opportunity to support Gregg Wright, the well-known Blues artist from the USA, on his European tour.

 

They have appeared at various festivals and blues clubs throughout the UK and most recently at the Kesgrave Music Festival as headliners in the Live Lounge.

 

The Hogs released their first CD, entitled Leavin’ Here in 2006. Tracks from the CD received airplay on BBC Radio Suffolk and Town 102.

 

The bands two songwriters, Peter and Steve are always writing and working on new material and the Hogs hope to release a new CD in 2009.
