Sofisticator

ENGLISH Sofisticator is a totally old school-oriented thrash metal band from Florence (Italy) mainly influenced by the likes of Exodus, Slayer, Possessed, Overkill and Venom. Popi (guitar) and Disossator (vocals) decided to start Sofisticator as a real band with Cosimo (drums) and Panca (bass) in September 2009. This infamous first line-up wrote the band’s early songs but Panca soon left and the bass duties were handled by different players, while Roccio joined as a second guitarist to support the growing metal mayhem. As Cosimo left soon after, Peppe the Butcher (drums) and Prosciugator (bass) joined Sofisticator in July 2010 to play some gigs and work on new material, but they were already out in October. Once recruited bassist Atomik Bahnhof, the band began working together to complete some kickass new songs as well as searching for a drummer, which eventually arrived in February 2011 in the person of The Ripper. This line-up entered Putrido Records Recording Studio in July-August 2011 to record the debut full-length album ‘Camping the Vein’, released by EBM Records in April 2012, and gigged around until increasing problems led to Ripper’s dismissal in November 2012. Old time friend Crudelio Von Füst temporarily replaced him for the remaining shows scheduled and in January 2013 Fire Eater officially joined Sofisticator as the new drummer only to get fired four months later due to his disloyal behavior. Once called back Crudelio Von Füst as the official drummer, troubles seem not to have ended yet: shortly after playing a great gig supporting Exodus, guitarist Baron Roccio gives up the band to follow different life paths. Nevertheless Sofisticator keep preparing for Romanian Thrash Fest – with Artillery, Nocturnal and Bio-Cancer among the others – while waiting to announce the new stable member to join the army and finally record the fucking second album. ITALIANO I Sofisticator sono un gruppo fiorentino di thrash metal old school. Influenzati principamente da gruppi come Exodus, Slayer, Possessed, Overkill e Venom, cominciano come una vera e propria band nel settembre del 2009 con Disossator alla voce, Popi alla chitarra, Panca al basso e Cosimo alla batteria. Con questa prima formazione il gruppo compone le prime canzoni originali, ma ben presto Panca abbandona il gruppo e si susseguono diversi bassisti; nel frattempo Roccio entra a far parte del gruppo come seconda chitarra. Nel luglio del 2010 anche Cosimo abbandona il gruppo e viene rimpiazzato da Peppe The Butcher, che porta con se anche Prosciugator al basso: con questa formazione si esibiscono in alcune date live, finché ad ottobre anche i due nuovi arrivati dipartono dal gruppo. Subito dopo entra in formazione Atomik Bahnhof al basso: con lui la band comincia un prolungato periodo dedicato alla composizione di nuovo materiale. Nel febbraio 2011 entra nel gruppo The Ripper alla batteria: ha così origine la formazione che nel luglio 2011 registra presso il Putrido Records recording studio di Lucca l'album di debutto 'Camping The Vein', valso il contratto discografico con EBM Records, la quale pubblica l'album il 15 Marzo 2012. La band prosegue nell'attività live finché crescenti problemi non portano al licenziamento di The Ripper nel novembre 2012; l'amico di vecchia data Crudelio Von Füst lo rimpiazza allora temporaneamente per le restanti date in programma e nel gennaio 2013 Fire Eater si unisce ufficialmente ai Sofisticator come nuovo batterista solo per essere cacciato quattro mesi più tardi a causa del suo comportamento scorretto. Ciò persuade a richiamare Crudelio Von Füst come batterista ufficiale, ma i guai sembrano non finire mai: poco dopo un importante show di spalla agli Exodus il chitarrista Baron Roccio abbandona a sua volta nel settembre dello stesso anno per seguire strade che lo portano lontano dalla musica. La band si prepara a sbarcare al Romanian Thrash Fest in compagnia di Artillery, Nocturnal e Bio-Cancer in attesa di presentare il nuovo membro stabile della formazione e registrare il proprio secondo album.
