The Allison Ames Band Featuring one of the most popular female vocalists in the State of Maine! The Allison Ames Band is quickly becoming the “must see” band of the year! You may already be familiar with Allison as she is a seasoned vocalist having formerly fronted the extremely popular, award-winning band, Allison Ames and The Flames, formed in 1991. Allison’s new band features alumni from the “Flames”, Jim England on keyboards, Tom Morelli on guitar, and Jeff Budge on bass, as well as veteran drummer, Don Powers. Jim England Jim England is one of the most accomplished keyboard players in the Bangor area, having performed in some of the areas most popular groups, including McTavish, Avonfield, The England Brothers and Souled Out, just to name a few. Jim also adds an powerful lead vocal to the band along with harmony vocal excellence. Don Powers For more than 40 years Don has been performing with some of the top bands in the state. From the mid 80’s through the early 90’s with the popular local group, Coloured Rain. Later with the jazz group, The Eastern Standard Trio and playing internationally in the early 2000’s, and most recently Souled Out. Opening for Bob Hope, Ricky Nelson, The Bellamy Brothers and Johnny Paycheck. His passion for playing the drums brings high energy and excitement to every Allison Ames Band performance. Thomas Morelli Tom began playing guitar at age 7 and is well known as one of the most talented guitar players in Maine, having been voted Guitar Player of the Year by DECMA. As lead guitarist for the extremely popular band Bootleg, Tom and the band opened for Sawyer Brown, Charlie Daniels, Jerry Lee Lewis and The Forrester Sisters. Tom also handles some lead and baritone vocals for The Allison Ames Band. Jeff Budge Jeff toured the country with his father in the nationally known bluegrass band, Bluegrass Supply Company, playing upright and electric bass before joining Allison Ames and the Flames. During that time he was twice named Bass Player of the Year for the State of Maine and earned top awards for his vocal work and harmony singing. Jeff also played with Rockin’ Ron and the New Society Band for many years and has opened for Bad Company, Dr. Hook and The Platters. Allison Ames Allison has been voted Female Vocalist of the Year by the Downeast Country Music Association and, along with “The Flames”, won the Wrangler Country Showdown and appeared in Nashville and Las Vegas. While in Nashville she appeared at the Nashville Palace, The Carousel Club and was an extra in a Vince Gill music video! Allison has opened for Tom Wopat, Clinton Gregory, Diamond REO and Asleep at the Wheel. Drawing on years of experience and striking a balance between old and new, The Allison Ames Band is capable of doing practically any type of music, from Elvis to Miranda Lambert, from Creedence to The Steve Miller Band, or from Fleetwood Mac to K.C and the Sunshine Band! The band has recently opened for both Loverboy and Night Ranger. Infused with tight three-part harmonies, tasteful instrumental breaks and solid rhythms and beats, their music will keep your feet tapping, your hands clapping and have you singing along with every song!
