Based out of Chapel Hill, The Friday Afternoon Jam puts on a high energy, tightly jammed show at every gig. Born in jam sessions held every Friday afternoon, the group now presents focused sets with a host of original pieces and a few covers and teases thrown in for good measure. Their versatile sound encompasses genres from jazz to bluegrass to hip-hop as the instrumentation also changes throughout the night to include mandolin and harmonica on various songs. Whether they're working through a climactic jam on their staple "The Same to Me," laying gentle piano and harmonica over original "On the Ground," or destroying a cover from the late 60s, every song is played with unparalleled passion and energy. They've already taken Chapel Hill with pure fire.
