Tragic Earth
Rock • South Melbourne, VIC, AU
Tragic Earth is a 4-piece hard rock act who’s sound takes in elements of grunge, metal and stadium rock with big riffs and choruses, fused with floating vocal melodies and delivered with a blistering live show. The band believes in a message of hope and perseverance, dealing with problems faced in modern day society, using lyrics and emotion as an unlikely light in a familiar darkness common to many individuals. Since debuting on the live scene in October of 2014, the band has toured regionally and interstate, notching up 50+ shows in their first year of existence, including a spot on the ‘French Fest’ three day New Years Eve Festival held on French Island, Bendigo’s Music Slam four day Festival, Roadie Awards 2015 and Adelaide’s LOUD Festival. Tragic Earth released their debut self-titled EP in April 2015, along with three singles and two music videos, receiving a substantial amount of airplay both locally and overseas while fast establishing the band as a genuine creative endeavour and touring act. 2016 will see the release of the band’s debut album, recorded at Lighthill Studios with Shane Rae. The album features 12 new tracks and will see the band embark on a series of promotional tours around the country, before setting off on their first run of overseas shows. ------------------------- Debut EP and digital singles ‘Feels Good, Could Be Better,’ ‘Obsessive Depressive’ and ‘Stumbelina’ are available on the band’s web-store and iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and more. ---------------------------- ‘These guys punch out a raucous style of heavy Aussie pub rock, but it’s also pub rock with a difference. Sure, you can very comfortably swagger and sway your drunken way around the dancefloor/pit of a sweaty, sticky carpeted pub to this. But this band inject a little raunch and a little boogie into their sound as well, and this sets them apart from the tired, sound-alike Aussie rock mob.’ Rod Whitfield, SF Media ‘Tragic Earth makes sure you know what they're all about from the start by blasting through without a warning, maintaining a decadence redolent of 1980s hair metal as they strut through a cyclone of wailing, brazen guitars and vocals, an environment the four-piece group has clearly mastered by allowing the music to take Tragic Earth wherever it leads them while at the same time exerting full control of the reigns, making the musical maelstrom a purposeful and absolutely engrossing one.’ Music Murmur ‘Turn up the volume and grab a beer as Tragic Earth spear out of the speakers. Dirty rock meets big metal wah-wah in the immensely satisfying four minutes of Feels Good, Could Be Better.’ Emerging Indie
