VICIOUS RUMOURS

Formed originally in 1979,Based in south east London/North Kent. Played extensively in the early to late 80's around England with some of the biggest names in punk and oi! of the time, First recordings on "the son of oi!" led to a bigger fan base, and in turn moer compilation lp's and eventually a first full LP 'anytime day or night' for cardiff legend Roddy Moreno's OI! records. The first oi! records band to have not only a full colour sleeve, but a printed inner sleeve aswell! second release 'The sickest men in town' released on 'Captain OI!' records, again, being different to the other bands by insisting to include a printed lyric sheet. Following 'the main event' at the sold out Astoria in 1988 we stopped gigging, due to frustration and being dissalusioned with the endless trouble at gigs etc, and some internal bickering ( doesn't every band??) 1999/2000 led to the release of 'the best of' Cd on Captain oi! and the rerelease of the previous 2 LP's on CD, and the band healed old wounds and played a tour in the west coast USA, aswell as various shows in europe, and headed back to the studio for a split release with US band The Generators. Circumstances totally out of the ordinary, prevented the three to able to continue as a 'band'. Johnny M, went on to record demos and do some shows in the States, with some friends, while JC and Dan joined a rock band in their native South London. 2010. The internet largely, and the blossoming of a new scene for punk and oi! bands around europe and indeed the world, led to calls for a reunion, which, happily leads us to today. We are doing some shows in December, and a release of rare recordings from the millenium years, is due for release in the summer. We're not going to change the world, we have nothing to proove to anyone other than ourselves.
