Jean-Claude Van Jamme is a brutal 8 piece jam machine that combines the Funk and Soul sounds of the 70's with the frenetic energy, humor, and imagery of 80's Action Films. Our funk robot was constructed from the ground up drawing upon the deep grooves of Sly and the Family Stone, James Brown, and The Funky Meters. We armed this groove vehicle with deadly horn licks and arrangements inspired by Tower of Power, Average White Band, and Maceo Parker. With all these components in place Jean-Claude Van Jamme launched our giant robot deep into space, following a cosmic trail blazed by pioneers like Parliament Funkadelic, Sun Ra, and Pink Floyd. In the course of our journey we have recruited talented pilots from around the galaxy, and our team has returned to Austin to elevate the people of Texas.
