The latest project from New York songwriter/guitarist/producer/electronic musician Nairb Funk, AfroDjMac is an effort to explore new musical territories and methods of composition. The music is made up of electronic and acoustic instruments mixed and arranged live; vocals and samples are layered on top, completing the sound. All the while special attention is paid to put forth songs that are catchy and exciting to listen to. AfroDjMac's music is intended to sound simultaneously futuristic and nostalgic. In 2011, AfroDjMac and collaborator SuperKid will be releasing the four song "Cowboys and Synthesizers" EP. "Cowboys and Synthesizes" is a collection of songs recorded over the last year that embody the spirit of rock (the cowboys) and electronic/experimental (the synthesizers) sounds married together. The songs tap into influences from early rock to modern electronica.
