Axios- A Vision revealed, a Prophecy foretold, a Divine instruction given to an Acappella group of five young men (THE 3AM- ) a long time ago at Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo Ogun State Nigeria. Impeccably arranged Vocals, Super-layered harmonies, instrumental and vocal versatility and strong ties to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (www.adventist.org) are the hallmarks of Axios. Membership: Axios is not a place for the professor emeritus in music rather, it is home where the first requirement is ‘to be a child in spirit and be ready to become malleable in the hand of the Creator-GOD’. Axios Choir started with just eleven members (2007) but She’s now a home for more than than 70 young multitalented souls who must sing vowed to sing aright though the “heavens fall’. Intake: Strict but fair-The recruitment process of Axios is handled by 7-intake and 3AM, adverts are placed and people subscribe via SMS or Web, and Exams are conducted and the the processes continues just to make sure that those ready to ‘SERVE’ are prayerfully selected. Structure: The choir is made up of three bodies who fall into the below categories Student Chorister Axiosians - maintained at 30 each year with regular intake of 7 students every summer Alumni Chorister Axiosians - stands at 50 as at November 2011 External & Inter Subscribers - numbering 630 as at November 2011 THOUGH WE ARE MANY, WE ARE ONE BODY IN CHRIST JESUS Types and Style of Music: Psalm 40:3 and Rev 5:9 has been our strength for strictly yearning to do and sing nothing below musical or spiritual standards. Hence, Axiosians are ordained by GOD to tackle the issue of prevailing debased music of the ‘jet’ age. We are known to be one of the (if not the first-ever) choirs to sing in Seven, YES! Seven (7) impeccably arranged Vocal parts often in the most disciplined kind of musical rendition called Acappella (singing unaccompanied by musical instruments). The Secret is… ‘NOT A SECRET’-GOD! Our Acappella or accompanied presentations envelops: Soft Gospels, Classical, Anthems, Spirituals, Harmonics, Ballads, Hymns, Contemporaries, Choruses, Medley, and Traditional Songs. When it comes to singing in Axios, ONLY THE BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH! THE PROPHECY SO FAR: Axios is not going to stop here on earth but it will continue up yonder.
