Brandon Solomon - Direction Four

Brandon Solomon Direction Four Biography. My name is Brandon Solomon. I am a singer/song writer from Christian Island Ontario, and I live in Kettle & Stony Point First Nation. I come from a family of musicians, so I have always played guitar but only recently have started writing and performing my own material. In the past five years I have had some relative (very relative) success with songs like "Barricade","10th Regiment" and "Dreams Like Mine" which have all been on the National Aboriginal Music Countdown top 40 (NAMC Top 40). I enlisted the help of local Kettle Point musicians forming the band Direction Four (D4). I use an acoustic guitar and harmonica, like my major influences and enjoy being in D4 but still perform solo too. We've mostly played in and around Kettle Point and I return home to Christian Island once in a while. I write songs about Native issues past and present and my personal views and expressions. Trying to use my voice to express emotions I am hoping for a connection with an audience or an indication that we feel the same about certain things. I like to use simple chord progressions and melodies and I try to have memorable choruses to go with a message or story. I have several recordings now, some played on various radio stations across Canada. Both the Direction Four EP, and as of August 2013, the very first full length album from Direction Four- Dreams Like Mine are available on iTunes. I hope you enjoy the music, we are unsigned and independent. I hope to keep writing, recording, performing and progressing as an artist and musician.
