CUTUPROUGH is the product of determination and patience. Jacek Klimontko left Christoph Hehring no peace until he picked up the neglected electric guitar again. A rehearsal room was found on the outskirts of Cologne and there was an endless coming and going of different bass players and drummers until Jan Stratmann and Guido Heeg finally perfected the band. At least pure passion and some decades experience from various music genres originated well-conceived ALTERNATIVE METAL with tune and emotional highs and lows. In the year 2010 the „rookies“ more accidently landed on the list of participants of the EMERGENZA-festival (qualifying Germany, NRW, Cologne). In spite of little developed songs and irregular rehearsals they suddenly played a show @ UNDERGROUND in march and they reached the next round and the first place of the evening by 180 show of hands. In april 2010 they took on the second round @ LUXOR and 205 raised hands earned them again the victory of the day and the participation on round three. End of may 2010 the LIVE MUSIC HALL was next up on the agenda, where the band members only listened to their musical heros at the bar until now. But the jury decided that the journey across the commercial competition ends there and therefore CUTUPROUGH were able to concentrate on intensive songwriting and extend their fan base by playing in some small clubs and at public rehearsals. Signs are pointing to attack and riot without any blandishments. CUTUPROUGH say: „We will stick to the music, we're going to write, regardless of wether or not someone likes it. The aim of this band is to produce songs with content and initiative. There is always the possibility to get a bloody nose. Jacek Klimontko ließ monatelang nicht locker, bis er Christoph Hehring im Jahr 2009 überredet hatte, die an den Nagel gehängte E-Gitarre nochmal in die Hand zu nehmen. Ein Proberaum fand sich am Stadtrand von Köln und dort gaben sich dann verschiedene Bassisten und Schlagzeuger die Klinke in die Hand, bis Jan Stratmann und Guido Heeg die Formation zu einer Einheit vervollständigten. Aus reiner Leidenschaft und einigen Jahrzehnten Erfahrung aus unterschiedlichen Stilrichtungen entstand gut durchdachter ALTERNATIVE METAL mit Melodie und emotionalen Höhen und Tiefen. 2010 landen die “Frischlinge” eher aus Versehen auf der Teilnehmer-Liste des EMERGENZA-Festivals (Ausscheidung NRW, Köln). Trotz bis dahin wenig entstandenem Material und unregelmäßigen Proben brachte ihnen das allerdings den ersten Auftritt im März im UNDERGROUND ein, wo sie mit 180 Stimmen nicht nur in die nächste Runde, sondern auch auf den ersten Platz des Abends per Handzeichen gewählt wurden. Im April 2010 traten sie dann zur zweiten Runde im LUXOR an und konnten mit 205 gehobenen Händen schon wieder den Tagessieg und den Weg in die dritte Runde klarmachen. Ende Mai stand dann die LIVE MUSIC HALL auf dem Programm, in der die Bandmitglieder bisher nur am Tresen ihren eigenen Vorbildern zugehört haben. Hier endete durch Jury-Entscheid die Reise durch den kommerziellen Wettbewerb und CUTUPROUGH konnten sich wieder auf intensives Songwriting konzentrieren und ihre Fanbase mit kleinen Club-Gigs und öffentlichen Proben vergrößern. Die Zeichen stehen auf Sturm und Krawall und das ohne jegliche Schmeicheleien. CUTUPROUGH sagen: “Wir werden der Musik treu bleiben, die wir machen wollten, egal ob sie jemand mag oder nicht. Das Ziel dieser Band ist es, gute Songs zu produzieren, die Inhalt und Initiative haben. Das gibt schon mal eine blutige Nase. Auf beiden Seiten.“
