J-Miah
Hip Hop • Bronx, NY
Born in Bronx New York 1985, Jeremy McKenzie was one of six children. He and his family relocated in 1987 to Florida after the seperation of his parents. He remained a Floridian untill his father came to join the family which was a short visit because shortly after reentering his families lives, was involved in a fatal accident killing him. The family then moved back to the Bronx where Jeremy then observed his hometown and realized a hole new world. Unlike the neighborly, peaceful, closed community that Florida offered, he was now exposed to the grimey, drug slinging, building inhabited city that honestly never sleeps. At 13, he found his ability to create music in a manner that was beyond his time. At such a young age, having being exposed to the death of his father, witnessing the death of people he respected, and being in a drug infested environment which he refused to get involveed with, he saw what young people shouldnt have seen, been through what grown men speak of, and this forced him to grow ahead of his time and fueled his passion to manipulate words and turn it into a poetic soul cleansing. 19 years have passed since returning to N.Y and he is now know as J-Miah. Front man of Y.A.S, he is working with DJ's and a number of artists trying to keep his talent active. Only time will tell if the young prodigy actually has what it takes to seperate himself from the rest of the New York scene and instead of giving you the hardcore element, show you the reality of his world yet also exude his cool.
