The Dave Walker Band, based in Bozeman, MT, features the British blues singer nicknamed "the Voice". Dave Walker has toured and performed all over the world with some of rock's biggest legends. Now his amazing career continues with an incredible band that offers one of the region’s most inspired blues-rock performances.
Walker began life in Walsall, Staffordshire, England and now lives in Virginia City, MT. He started jamming in England in the 60's and soon after opened for the Beatles one of his early bands , The Redcaps. Walker played with the Idle Race then joined the boogie-rock band Savoy Brown in the early 70's. He toured the world with Savoy Brown in the early 70's and then again in the 80's. As lead singer on the album Street Corner Talking, the band saw some of their greatest success. After leaving Savoy Brown, Walker joined Fleetwood Mac and recorded on their first album to hit the top 50 in the U.S., Penguin. Walker's past also includes a stint with Black Sabbath, briefly replacing Ozzy Osbourne. Walker has remained musical in his endeavors wherever they lead him. He relocated to Montana in the late 90's. In 2003, Walker went back to England to record a tribute to Sonny Boy Williamson for Mooreland Street Records.
In 2007, he formed The Dave Walker Band with seasoned session players from Montana. Jimmy Lewis on guitar, Eddie T. on bass, Mike Gillan on drums, and Chris Cundy on keyboards.
The latest arrangement of players in the band includes vocalists Jeni Fleming and Krista Barnett, local guitar legend Craig Hall, harp player Buff Brown, and original DWB members Eddie T. on bass, Mike Gillan on drums, and Chris Cundy on keyboards. The band is described as blues-rock with a bit of R&B yet always seems to stretch the boundaries of that genre through tasteful musical exploration.
