Elz bio.
Trial. Tribulation. If history is written by the victor, then Elz Jenkins is about to write a novel. With his hard-hitting bars and uncanny ability to rhyme effortlessly over any instrumental, Elz Jenkins is ready to write his name all over the game. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Elz moved to Decatur, Georgia at the young age of 5. While he bounced between the two cities as an adolescent and even forayed in Houston, the sound of the South never quite left his psyche. With a mother and sister heavily involved in music, music was to be his destiny; however, Elz would have to overcome his share of adversity. Introduced to the drug game as a teenager, Elz began to hustle. Hustling paid the bills until fate intervened; a street beef and trip to the hospital from 2 separate stabbings would cause Elz to give up hustling and permanently relocate him to Atlanta. It was this move that catalyzed his move into the rap game, and as they say it, the rest is history. A 13-week champion of Atlanta's Hot 107.9 Freestyle Friday competition, Elz Jenkins has worked with an array of producers such as Brian Michael Cox, Buckwild, Heatmakers, Gritty Traxx and artists such as Fat Joe. Although he received offers for deals in the past, Elz knew the time wasn't right. The sound wasn't right. He had the bass of the South cursing through his veins and eliminating that sound was not an option. In 2011, Elz began working on his debut album and added his last name to his stage name to pay homage to the man who made him, his formerly estranged father. So don't call him Elz, call him Elz Jenkins. Better yet, if it makes you no matter, call him victor.
