Falcon & The Punches is the collective musical consciousness of four different individuals from Austin, TX. Through the varied mediums of folk, bluegrass and singer-songwriter music, they strive to interweave the emotions and images, the themes and archetypes, the patterns and processes and the unique happenings of our world as they four see it. In what seems to be the pre-apocalyptic buildup to the most unlikely occurrence man has ever witnessed, what else can you do in these days besides smile and keep on? Falcon Potts Hickey met Josh Moore at the prolific folk music gathering known as the Kerrville Folk Festival and immediately formed a close bond that lasted well into their teens and most recent days. The two began to play music years ago but have only taken it to the public within the confines of the last two years. Falcon states "We both taught ourselves how to play music and eventually combined our love of music together". It was at this point that they recruited Adrian Voorhies for small scale percussion work. A year down the line, Hunter Hollingsworth was added to the mix and a new sound had formed with the addition of banjo and washboard. Now, already half way through 2011, Falcon & The Punches have performed at numerous venues in the greater Austin area and beyond and have released countless demos as well as a debut full length entitled "Barefoot". The future looks bright, the road is straight ahead & only time will tell of how far and great the journeys ahead of them shall be.
