Precious Christmas ©2012 Fred and Cheryll Kent
How precious our time at Christmas, The stockings in place by the fire,
The candles burn bright, the tree sheds its light, The scent from the greens fills the air.
How precious the season of Christmas, The family all gathered around,
Kids get new toys, there’s trucks for the boys, The girls dress their dolls with new gowns.
How precious our friends at Christmas, A kitchen with holiday glee,
The table is set, a place for each guest, There’s well-chosen gifts round the tree.
But in the end, the things don’t really matter, Toys will break, clothes will tear and tatter.
Greens turn brown, lights back to the attic, Life’s about, family and the friends we love
How precious the moment of Christmas, The King entered earth as a child,
To live as a man, salvation began, He showed how to live meek and mild.
How precious our memories of Christmas, The years how they pass how they fly,
The memories will last, but the time goes so fast, Missing loved ones who’ve made their goodbyes.
How precious the season of Christmas, How precious the season of Christmas.
