Hybrid Nightmares are an Extreme Metal Band from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 2008 this quintet has earned a reputation as one of Melbourne's best live acts through a chaotic, relentless and above all, entertaining live show. Don't let their extreme image and face paint fool you, the Nightmare sound is a true amalgamation of the many diverse styles of metal that members Loki, Jonny, Ben, Batty & Gummas draw influence from. Black, death, groove, folk and classic heavy metal are all blended into the sonic maelstrom that is Hybrid Nightmares, a sound that defies any categorization other than 'extreme' Since the release of their 2011 self titled EP, the band have gone from strength to strength. 2012 saw HN complete a successful national tour and join the Australian metal festival circuit for the first time. They were also acknowledged in Australian Heavy Music Magazine's Top 50 Aussie Metal songs when two songs from their EP made the list. 2013 saw HN headlining the majority of their shows including several local metal festivals. Gummas, Ben and Jonny signed endorsement deals with ESP Guitars and Dean Markley strings. HN also received the highest number of votes nationally in a competition to open for Cradle of Filth on their Australian Tour then went on to be selected to open for USA's Ceremonial Castings and Norway's Enslaved on their Australian Tours.
