Days Like This

There has to be days like this – I’ll say truck, she’ll say Lamborghini.
Days like this – I’ll say steak, she’ll say linguine.
Cheeseburger and french fries – She complains, says it goes straight to her thighs.
It’s way too deep to scrutinize – for a man like me… just a man like me.
There has to be days like this – Headin’ to Dalrock, whoa, now it’s Little Rock.
Days like this – I’ll do small talk, she’ll tell me to take a walk.
Sit, relax and do some vegetatin’ – Sometimes it takes some negotiatin’
Cause going shoppin’ is intimidatin’ – to a man like me… just a man like me.
Chorus:
We’re only on this earth a very short while,
I’d love to take each day with a smile.
Then I think it would make life worthwhile to a man like me.
My Dad looked at life the very same way
By giving love and a smile every day.
Just gettin by was never his way,
Not for a man like him, no, no, not a man like him.
There has to be days like this – I’m thinkin’ Velveta, instead I get Swiss.
Days like this –I’ll reach for a hug and instead get a kiss.
Sit, relax and do some kissy facin’ – Then she smiles and my heart goes racin’
I’m workin’ hard and there’s no disgracin’ – to a man like me… just a man like me.
There has to be days like this – she’s thinkin’ fireside, I want to take a ride.
Days like this – she wants to tussle, I pulled a muscle.
Sit, relax and do some hibernatin’ – Now it’s time for procrastinatin’
‘Cause doing nothing can be liberatin’ – to a man like me… just a man like me.
Chorus:
We’re only on this earth a very short while,
I’d love to take each day with a smile.
Then I think it would make life worthwhile to a man like me.
And now it’s my turn to give back to you,
Giving love is never taboo,
Lift someone up on your way every day
That’s life for a man like me, a man like me.
There has to be days like this, Lord, Lord.
There has to be days like this, yea, yea.
There has to be days like this, there has to be days like this.
