James started his band career with a local Dallas-area band called "Crossfire", in the early 1990s. In the mid-1990s, James teamed up with Jared Vincent, Brad Swiger, Terry "t-Bone" White, Trey DeRossett, and Tim Posey to form the highly successful band "Broken Arrow". Broken Arrow was a very popular band in the Dallas metro-plex area winning multiple awards (including Vocal Group of the Year, and Entertainers of the Year in subsequent years awarded by he Terry Awards) and playing several Television and Cable shows. In the late 1990s, James teamed up with several of his Broken Arrow band mates, and made the transition into the house band at Cowboys Red River in Dallas Texas. At Cowboys, James received his second Entertainer of the Year award from the "Terry Awards Association", which honors local Dallas area musicians. James is a well rounded entertainer, and additionally does work for weddings, receptions, galas, corporate events, and various sporting events throughout the Dallas area metroplex (including Nascar, and the Dallas Cowboys Stadium).
