...a coffeehouse 4 your spirit. JavaMusiK markets/distributes a collection of music/merchandise by Colorado composer/arranger/pianist Jeff Van Devender. Jeff is a classically trained musician who continues to discover his passion for piano every day. His first composition came as the result of a college freshman theory contest to write in the style of JS Bach. While the resulting piece did not win the contest, it did present Van Devender with the foundation and confidence to eventually continue writing. Van Devender has created & marketed 6 instrumental cd's of piano-based instrumental music and has even begun transcribing some of his compositions for Alpine Road Publishing. Recently portrayed as Jim Brickman introduces George Winston to Elton John, his piano melodies may be best described as "a blending of classical, jazz & subtle rock influences with a touch of soul. Listen as you are transported to another time & place." Obviously, Jeff's influences extend far beyond the 3 aforementioned names above. It remains Jeff's hope that any listener can pick something out in his music that sounds familiar, but unique in a good way.
