Josh Yavneh is a singer/songwriter from Queens NY currently living in the big city. His music is an eclectic mix of blues, rock, folk, country and bits of other genres. He has a wide range of influences. Among his biggest musical hero's are Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Howlin' Wolf, Otis Redding, John Fogerty and Johnny Cash. He began performing shows in the NYC area with bands as bassist and/or rhythm guitar when he was 17 years old. In 2005, Yavneh began performing as a solo artist with his own material. He has performed in numerous venues including The Bitter End, Maxwell's, American Beauty, The Bowery Electric, Arlene's Grocery, Kenny's Castaways and many others solo as well as with his band, The Culprits.
If you love Dylan/Neil tinged songwriting mixed with "real deal" rock and roll, Yavneh's music is right up your alley. "Imagine John Fogerty fronting Pearl Jam" says Yavneh "something like that..sometimes".
