The New Rock N’ Roll…
Mary Rose Obsession was born from a vision…a recurring vision that took place while in the intensive care unit of a trauma center following the near fatal car crash of one of its members. The vision soon became an obsession.
Discharged from the hospital, several months later, a chance meeting brought the brothers and band mates together giving faces to the name Mary Rose Obsession and a purpose.
Based out of Markham Ontario, this Canadian Rock band consists of two pair of brothers…lead singer & guitarist Daniel Grandinetti, bassist David Grandinetti and lead guitarist Christopher Bundas, drummer Matthew Bundas. Fans have lovingly named the band with the moniker “MRO”.
You can’t deny the love of a good rock n roll song. Whether you are a fan of jazz, rap, hip-hop, country, or opera, there is a little rock n roll in all of us. MRO has created a hybrid alternative /rock sound derived from their belief in the basic roots of rock music. They have worked with some of the top names in the music industry like, David Bendeth and Ted Jensen, creating music that is real, a reflection of themselves…their lives and experiences. The music of Mary Rose Obsession is infectious and their live show is energetic, entertaining, and engaging. It couldn’t be more evident how much they enjoy doing what they do; the fans know it and feed off it.
One reporter summed it up perfectly, “Smooth vocals atop edgy rock riffs combined with catchy lyrics, hardcore fans, and looks that could kill; the guys of Mary Rose Obsession have the “next big thing” written all over them…in red lipstick.”
The driving force behind this band? Simple, it’s the love of music, creating, touching a fan with a lyric…that connection with an audience. This band is genuine, the music is authentic, and the emotions are honest. That is evident by the amount of time the band spends after each show sincerely getting to know their fans & supporters. If you see this band live, they will connect with you and you too will become obsessed!
Subtle influences from the likes of band such as U2, Coldplay, Linkin Park and Kings of Leon can be heard. The songs are high-energy and take you on an emotional ride.
Recorded at the world-renowned studios of Metalworks, mastered by Tom Baker in L.A., and self-produced; by all accounts the debut record "Chains To Nowhere" was a straight ahead rock n roll record...no excuses. ‘Too Young To Die’, the sophomore release with producer David Bendeth on board takes Mary Rose Obsession to a new level. The writing is fine tuned and the music addictive...a musical cocktail of alternative/rock. This follow-up album definitely has the potential to leave a mark and stand-out in today's modern music scene.
