Born Chris Michael Wanzala Snr Jatelo a.k.a Jatelo in April, 13, started singing at an age of 4 in church and family functions. He went professional in January 2010 doing his first single "Migingo" with Grandpa Records. This is a versatile artist with love for the game. He is a song writer, arranger, singer, actor, author and an all round entertainer. The genius of Jatelo rests in his willingness to break from traditional formula and constantly push the envelope. He flips the method of the moment with undeniable swagger and bold African sensibility. Always willing to venture in new directions, his latest single pairs him with the Tanzanian Singer Jillybaby. Jatelo had written many songs for various artists and done backups for many other recording artists before venturing fully into the music career in the year 2010. He has also been performing in various functions among them weddings, funerals, clubs and many other corporate functions. As a songwriter, Jatelo revisits simple, but profound aspects of the human experience – love, lust, desire, joy and pain that define classical art and drama. He applies his concept to rich, full vocals that exude his intended effect. In 2004; while in school, he recorded a gospel album titled 'Sumu ya shetani' which had a very pleasant reception. He, in the same year recorded a single titled, 'Nitafanya nini' with 254 records which was a fusion of Benga, RnB and Kenyan Rhumba In 2006; He recorded another song Titled 'Ninataka' also with 254 Records. Since 2006, he has worked with various upcoming artists like Dogolast, The matrix among others. In 2010; he decided to venture into professional music in styles he knows and understands best. With all the musical experience, Jatelo will leave an imprint on your heart from a musician who is pure talent and an amazing performer. He is second to none. Come 2012, Jatelo intends to release an album for all his fans which is titled after his tagline “SIMPLY THE BEST 1”. This album is a combination of various mature styles in music, including, Zouk, Kabenga (his own fusion of Benga nad Kapuka), Afraga ( His own fusion of Raga, Calipso and with an african touch), RnB, among others.
