Menervah is an Italian metal band with alternative influences, formed in Cosenza in 2020. The members of the band are guitarist Tony Prince, bassist Dario De Bartolo and drummer Umberto Russo, keyboardist Luca Valentino and vocalist/guitarist Antonio Orrico. The name of the band derives from Minerva, Roman divinity of fighting loyalty, heroic virtues, defensive war and wisdom, who, according to the myth, was the daughter of Jupiter, the source of inspiration for some songs composed by the band. Menervah's sound can be defined as "hard, but melodic"; their style can be identified as "a perfect fusion of hard-rock and alternative-metal, permeated with post-grunge". The main musical influences of the band are: Alter Bridge, Three Days Grace, Metallica, Dream Theater, System of a Down, Pantera and Seether. Menervah are characterized by songs composed of verses sung in calm way and choruses screamed loudly. The band's music varied a lot as the keyboard player entered the initial lineup. Initially it is mainly based on metal sounds and on themes mostly related to introspection, uncomfortableness, fantasy, dystopia with various references and metaphors regarding space and planets. Then, we started experimenting with a new sound thanks also to the introduction of the synth and keyboards.
