MudSlide Charley
Blues • Missoula, MT
MudSlide Charley creates a powerful and seminal expression of 21st century blues. With our soul firmly planted in the dirt of the Mississippi Delta, we weave together Blues, Hip Hop and early R&B into the fabric of our sound, to write and perform songs that exude emotional fervor, and joyous spontaneity.
Mudslide Charley has been playing festivals, bars, breweries, resorts, and any venue where people gather to hear and share the magic of the blues and the joy of music and dance since 2004. We had the honor of playing the Somers Cajun Street Dance, The Flathead Lake Blues Festival, The Wallace Blues Festival, The Hot Springs Blues Festival, Out to Lunch in Missoula, and the Fort Benton Summer Festival. We've opened for The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Anna Popovich, and Charles Neville.
In November, 2014, MudSlide Charley released our 3rd CD, New & Used. It was the culmination of a year of work in the studio, on stage, and in rehearsal, honing an artistic statement that is original, yet firmly rooted in the delta blues, R&B, and Americana that formed the musical personality of the band. In February, 2015, New & Used hit #22 on Living Blues International Radio charts.
MudSlide Charley consists of Marco Littig, guitar and vocals, Emi Kodama, vocals, Tahj Kjelland, bass and vocals, Roger Moquin, drums and vocals, and Phil Hamilton, harmonicas and saxophones.
