RICK SHANE MUSIC

Born and raised South Bronx. Pickup guitar about 11 years old. A friend and I took a few lessons, quit, and taught ourselves to play by tuning up to records and buying sheet music of songs for our garage band from music row on West 47th in Manhattan. We played the British Invasion, Motown, the Rascals, Top 40, then another friend, brought down a new album that changed us all, Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix, then The Doors, Cream, etc. all followed. Started to write while in high school into the early 80's. Would let the old Grundig reel to reel roll that dad got for me and I would just start playing and creating songs in the basement of the house. Must of been loud. Had a fender head attached to 2 fender bassman cabinets for that old tower of power sound. Never liked using a lot of pedals so kept that pretty simple. I remember some guys came down, one with a trumpet and the next thing I knew I was in a 10 piece Funk, Blues, Rock Band
