Tommy Stokes

I'm the vocalist of Tommy Stokes, and... have an extensive catalog of original material. My first (professional) show opening was for the country music artist Faron Young, in 1979. Been performing ever since, though not always "professionally". Often when I need guitar strings, I'll just go busking somewhere to acquire the funds needed. Busking, definitely helps keep me going in tough times, too. The "pandemic" changed all that, really. Busking nowadays, is more of a challenge than it used to be. Most of the lucrative places to busk, now require licenses, and in some cases more, such as insurances. And, in other places buskers are treated as panhandlers now, due to the ever growing hordes of homeless. The world has always offered up fodder for songs, modern times are no different. It just seems that fewer people have time to listen, nowadays. Maybe if they just took the time, things would improve for them? That's what I belive, anyway. Musicians, don't retire. The music goes on alone.
