Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Alex Mallett is a creative force in Brooklyns close-knit roots music scene. He has shared the stage with Andy Statman, Alex Battles, Gangasta Grass, The Whistling Wolves, Astrograss and many others. Already an in-demand bassist, Alex formed The Alex Mallett Band to play his banjo-driven genre-jumping sing-along songs. They're songs of love, heartbreak, youth lost/gained that make the soul search, the feet tap and the voice holler. Joined by Nico Dann on drums, Alan Biller on bass, and a host of talented surprise guests, The Alex Mallett Band are putting finishing touches on their first full-length CD to be released spring 2014.
