Née en Côte d'Ivoire un 20 janvier, mais elle est d'origine Sénégalaise.
Un soir d’avril 1983, en concert hommage à son frère de cœur et ami Amadou Touré (membre du groupe Touré Kunda), elle monta sur scène au Casino de Paris où elle entama une danse endiablée. C’est ainsi que deux mois plus tard, elle intégra le groupe en tant que danseuse puis choriste.
