Paul Levinson
Rock • White Plains, NY
=First Album 1972; Second Album 2020= Paul Levinson recorded with Stu Nitekman and Ira Margolis as The New Outlook aka The Other Voices (produced by Ellie Greenwich and Mike Rashkow) for Atlantic Records in the late 1960s. In 1972, Paul released an LP, Twice Upon a Rhyme, with Ed Fox, Peter Rosenthal, Boris Midney, Donny Frankel, Mitch Greenberg, Jay Sackett, Alan Fuhr, Jesse Stiller and other musicians on HappySad Records - a mix of sunshine pop and folk-rock psychedelic. South Korea's Big Pink/Beatball reissued Twice Upon a Rhyme on CD in December 2008 and Vivid Records did the same in Japan in 2009. Whiplash/Sound of Salvation released a vinyl remastered re-pressing in December 2010, and again in 2012. HappySad released Spun Dreams (studio and home demos by The New Outlook) for digital distribution in January 2011. Don Frankel and Robbie Rist (as Sundial Symphony) released two of Paul's songs ("Merri Goes Round" and "Looking for Sunsets in the Early Morning") on Big Stir Records in 2019. Paul Levinson signed with Old Bear Records in August 2018 to produce and distribute a brand new album of science fiction related songs written and performed by Levinson. He recorded that album for Old Bear Records at their studio in Batavia, New York at the end of October through early November 2018. The cover photo on this page was taken at the October 31 session, with Jeremy Thompson on guitar, Levinson singing, Steve Palin on piano, and producer Chris Hoisington working out harmonies for Paul's new song, "Welcome Up". The album, titled Welcome Up: Songs of Space and Time was released on Old Bear Records in February 2020, with vinyl distributed by Light In the Attic. In September 2021, QRock 639 (aka Laron Cue) began releasing a series of Remixes of Paul Levinson's songs from Welcome Up and Twice Upon A Rhyme for Three Beats Later. The first Remix release was "Cloudy Sunday". Thanks for playing tracks from Twice Upon a Rhyme: JackMix.FM ... RockOn365 ... Psychedelic Jukebox ... Garage Lombus ...
