Born in Virginia, he resided in Trenton, New Jersey until his parents moved back to Virginia due to the excessive crime wave in the city. Reign Cannons was introduced to hip hop at a young age. Living in New Jersey during the height of gangsta rap it presented its challenges to many youths, as well as Reign. But Reign was born into music from birth. He fell in-love with God at the age of five! In high school Reign and some friends from his church formed a rap group that began touring. But his life took a different turn after the rap group fizzled out. He decided to heed his parents advice and apply to college, pursuing biblical education instead of the streets and major labels. There he came into contact with many more Christian artist and thus his journey began. Reign brings to the table a charismatic vibe that depicts scripture with real life situations. He coins this as "Impact" music. He makes music for those who don't want to go on in life. He says his music is ‘Inspired by Hope & Motivated by Tragedy’
