Rikki Woods is drummer for the legendary punk band The Bathwater, a percussionist, vocalist, and song writer. A fan favorite, she won “Popular Champion, 2019,” voted into the finals by members of The Sabian Educator’s Network (2019), and placed top 10 in the International Hit Like a Girl Female Drummer Contest in both 2014 and 2015. She won second place in Foxy Drummer’s 2015 drum solo competition.
Rikki’s musical career began at the age of 7 with the clarinet. This blossomed over time to include flute, saxophone, bassoon, guitar, vocals and drums. She was the original vocalist and a founding member of Hari Kari, an all-female thrash metal band, produced by the late-great rock drumming icon Eric Carr of KISS.
Rikki believes in leading by example. She first picked up drumsticks in her 40’s, when her 8 year old son decided to take up guitar. She decided to start taking drum lessons at the same music facility, at the same time as her his guitar lesson. Rikki became obsessed with drumming.
Rikki is a Leukemia and stem cell transplant survivor and spokesperson. She is working toward her Master’s Degree in Music Business, with Berklee College of Music. She is an Adjunct Professor of Music and now the Hit Like a Girl (HLAG) Educational Alliance Manager
Rikki proudly endorses Soultone Cymbals and Diemond Star drumsticks.
