Swamp Rats
Folk • Naples, FL
Swamp Rats was founded by Scotty Crow and R.T. Stack. After a short but successful stint R.T. went on a hiatus to deal with some personal problems. It was mainly R.T. who brought the traditional train hopping folk style to the stage with Scotty on back up vocals and primarily washboard. Since then, Scotty has teamed up with one of SWFLs most prominent metal guitarists Wes Cooper and two of the Heartlands most notable musicians Labdon and Andy.
Swamp Rats as a personality of a bipolar mud hopper from the swamp lands of Florida. Scotty Crow (vocals, banjitar, rezzo, washboard, stomp box) tells tales of sadness from both an inside and outside perspective while Wes Cooper (vocals, guitar, banjitar) preaches at the top of his lungs of the beauty of living and beer guzzling fun. Along the way Wes and Scotty stumbled a upon Labdon (bass) drinking his cares away at the local pub. In that very same pub they ran into the virtuoso Andy Starky (mandolin, vocals). Together they bring a unique approach to folk music combining their various influences. Swamp Rats have been dubbed by some as Florida's "phantom" folk band. With folk, bluegrass, punk, blues and metal in the mix they will have you guessing whats next.
