The BorderCollies are a contemporary Celtic band, featuring a unique blend of traditional Celtic and folk influences in their music. Based out of Duluth, Georgia, the band performs regionally around the southeast at concerts, festivals, pubs and clubs. Both were taking a contemporary Celtic composition course taught by Susan McKeown. They started writing songs together as soon as they returned from Swannanoa, channeling all energy into the BorderCollies. One of the first musicians to join the band was Lisa McCann. Lisa plays bodhran, shruti and sings. We are so VERY excited to have Suzanne Ramos now officially fiddling for the BorderCollies. Suzanne brings over fifteen years experience playing traditional Irish music, having spent much of that time working and performing with the Atlanta Junior Ceili band under the direction of former BorderCollies fiddler Katherine Irwin Thomas as well as becoming a certified Irish fiddler instructor herself, studying in Dublin at the Ceoltori Eirann. Additionally, Suzanne is a champion Irish stepdancer. She has a vast repertoire of traditional Irish tunes and also has very many Scottish, Cape Breton and a few bluegrass tunes to add to her performances.
