The Heal
Rock • Winthrop Harbor, IL
The Heal is the brain-child of Rex Carroll, considered by many to be one of the most extroardinary rock guitarists in the world.
It all started in 1985 with FIERCE HEART, Rex's first band with Atlantic Records. Guitar Player Magazine called out his "masterful solos..packed with authority" while Guitar For The Practicing Musician hailed "the birth of a guitar hero."
Next came Whitecross, in 1987. Whitecross found immediate success and began touring heavily. For the next five years, Whitecross compiled a massive track record of live concerts and album sales, reaching a world-wide audience.
The late 90's proved to be a difficult time for Rex artistically. Nevertheless, he managed to re-define and re-invent himself, staying active with various projects.
Finally, THE HEAL. Having absorbed all manner of education in the music business, Rex now turned his attention towards making a statement of his own. Having grown up on hard rock and metal, The Heal brings an undeniably heavy sound. Unleashing their Les Pauls and Marshall stacks on the world, Rex Carroll and Mike Potucek make no apologies for burning down the house with monster riffs, crushing grooves and some jaw-dropping solos. So far, so good. But don't lump them in with the so-called "cookie-monster" bands. The Heal is much more than just a collection of guitar/drum grooves with a monotone vocal pasted over the top. No, The Heal songs are big on melody, harmonies, thoughtful lyrics, and of course, those trademark melodic chord progressions Rex has always been known for. Hard Rock and Metal have never had it so good. Their stunning debut at Nashville's famed music showcase The Rutlege is testimony to a band that has been there, done that, seen it all, and knows what to do with a packed house. The Heal may be short on history, but it's long on pedigree and the future of rock never looked so bright. We welcome you along for the ride...better buckle up...
