​ ​ Triana Presley is an award winning singer-songwriter hailing from Berkeley, California. She has performed in small venues around New York City where she attended college, and around the San Francisco Bay Area where she is from and currently resides. Triana's songs have been described as a blend of folk, pop, and americana with an old-soul touch. With more grace than power, Triana’s voice has been called dreamy and haunting, compared to the likes of old-school folk singers. Triana grew up playing the piano, and after becoming rhyme-obsessed during a poetry unit in the fifth grade, she combined the two and picked up songwriting. To this day, she has yet put it down. Her first completed song, "Christmas Without You", was written about her recently deceased cat. At eleven years of age, it was an incredibly emotional time in the young songwriter's life. Now writing about life, love, and growing up, Triana’s songs have grown along with her while maintaining their youthful charm and honesty. During high school, Triana got a job for recording artist and performer, Jennifer Lee, learning about the music industry first-hand. As an added benefit, she was able to save enough money to record her first demo. "Kaydence" was recorded at Broken Pretzel Music in Oakland, CA with the help of Robert Temple and Jeff Rolka. ​ After graduating from high school, Triana attended Barnard College at Columbia University in New York City where she continued her musical education in and out of class. She worked at Moscow 57, a live music and entertainment company. Immersed in the New York City music scene, she also gained experience in professional songwriting, music promotion, and artist management. Continuing to write songs and perform her own material at small venues around New York City, Triana garnered many positive reviews, sharing the stage with artists such as Kayte Grace, Cleve Douglass, Cici James, and Ellen Kaye. While Triana is certainly busy with her day job in criminal justice, she is now pursing songwriting with more vigor than ever before. Her very first EP, Timorous or Bold, was released in September 2016 with the help of Ben Bernstein at Petting Zoo Studios in Oakland, CA. Stay tuned!
