Ukrainian composer Valeriy Antonyuk was born in 1979. In addition to being a composer, he is also an arranger, pianist, multi-instrumentalist, rock-pop singer and song poet. He works in all existing musical genres, and composes music for varying ensemble types. At the age of 12, Valeriy felt the desire to compose music and within two years he composed his first works, namely: a cycle of 5 piano preludes “Imitating Prokofiev”, a sonata for flute solo “Dedication to Debussy”, 3 treatments of Ukrainian folk songs for mixed choir a cappella, and “Nocturne” for string quartet in memory of Gustav Mahler. Valeriy has collaborative experience with music companies such as Sonoton, Manhattan Production Music, Sound Ideas, Fable Music, Epitome Music, Audiosparx, Roba Music, Tree Of Arts, Jingle Punks. The American classical music publisher Lorenz published some of his pieces for organ solo. The Canadian classical music publisher Lighthouse Music Publications published some of his chamber pieces. The American clarinet classical music publisher Alea Publishing & Recording published his pieces for bass clarinet solo and clarinet quartet. The Japanese classical music publisher Da Vinci Edition published the scores of 9 symphonies, instrumental concertos, chamber works and pieces for organ solo. Also this company published the CDs with symphonic and vocal symphonic works by composer. He has composed music for three feature television films: “Red Lotus,” “Bread Day,” and “Snake Is Creeping” produced by Star Media /Freshproduction.ua, as well as music to the documentary “Black Sea Navy 1941-1944" produced by Insitemedia.ua, and to short feature films “Who Is Tanya” and "She Called him Idiot”. Valeriy often participates in Ukrainian international festivals of modern music such as the Kyiv Music Fest, Musical Premiers Of The Season, and Contrasts. His symphonic works have been recorded by the Ukrainian Radio Symphony Orchestra (conductors: Vyacheslav Blinov, Victoria Zhad'ko, Vladimir Sheiko). Valeriy also collaborates with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (conductors Vladimir Sirenko, Natalia Ponomarchuk), Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine (conductor Myroslav Skoryk), State Academic Variety-symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (conductor Mykola Lysenko), Bulgarian Film Orchesra (conductor Gregor Narholz), Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra (conductor – Nikoloz Rachveli), Madeira Classical Orchestra (conductor - Pablo Urbina), the string quartets Archi and Collegium, the chamber choir Credo (conductor Bogdan Plish), and the academic chamber choir Kreschatic (conductor Pavlo Struts’). Valeriy Antonyuk’s works include approximately 600 symphonic, choral, chamber (vocal and instrumental) pieces for soloists and instrumental ensembles. Altogether about 600 pieces. He is a member of National Composer Union of Ukraine (2004), and a member of the performing rights societies BMI (2008), MCPS (2009). He won the International Prokofiev Composer Competition, Ukraine (2000) with “Theme & Six Transformation For Piano Quintet”. Valeriy won also the Grand Prize at the 2nd competition “Solospiv” (music in cinema) of the 8th Kyiv International Festival of documentary films “Kinolitopys-2009”. Among many awards he received for his music works, particularly important are outstanding Ukrainian composers Levko Revutsky award in 2010 for achievements in composer creative work and Boris Lyatoshinsky award in 2018 for his Symphony no. 7 “Masquerade Of Not Seen Dreams”, dedicated to innocent victims of wars and terror.
