Passionate and energetic musician, Vincent Bélanger instils in all of his various projects an original artistic vision, filled of warmth and depth. Born into a famous family of famous musicians * many of which have contributed greatly to developla music scene in Quebec, he inherited not just an amazing talent, but also an open mind full of initiative that affects his whole approach.

Edwin Bélanger ( his grandfather), violinist, founding of the Philharmonic Circle and the first artistic director of the Symphony orchestra of Quebec.
Marc Bélanger, his uncle, violinist, composer, co-founder of the Montreal Metropolitan Orchestra of Montreal and also for the Symphony orchestra of Drummondville;
Guy Bélanger ( his father), tenor , conductor and co-founder of the Québec city Opera and the Choir of Quebec;
Antoine Bélanger ( his brother), opera singer, tenor.
Vincent plays on an anonymous bicentenary cello, that belonged to his great-uncle, the cellist Paul Létourneau.
Formation and beginnings
He initially started his studing with the piano at 5 years old. Then he chooses the cello and integrates the Conservatoire de Québec. In 1999, he received a scholarship from the Cultural Club of Quebec and continued his training in France at the Conservatoire National de Région de Montpellier, where he obtained his graduation, a Diploma of Music Studies and other several First Prizes (Gold Medals with highest honors) for cello and chamber's music.
He was also the first cellist in the conservatory's orchestra, had the opportunity to interpret baroque's repertory with Violaine Cochard from the Amarillis Ensemble. He received master classes from the great Yo-Yo Ma (Lyon, May 2001) and Lluis Claret the Catalan master (Montpellier, December 2001). Grants of the « Canadian music Youth » in 2002, he perfected his playing by studying in the master classes with Yvan Chiffoleau and won the first prize in cello master class.
Back to Quebec in 2003, he gave many recitals and obtained a chair as the first cello in the Opera Theatre of Rimouski as well as the first cello solo in the Symphonic's orchestra of Drummondville.
In 2004, he awarded a scholarship from the Council of Arts and letters du Quebec allowing him to order an original track « Fantasy for solo cello » from the composer and conductor Marc Bélanger. which he interpreted at the Young Artists show, presented by Alain Lefebvre on Radio-Canada in 2005.
A taste for the eclecticism
He has to his credit various participations in various musical styles, whether for the severals discs - The quebecan rock band « les pisotlets roses » (2005) and for the composer of spiritual music Bradfield (2005 and 2011) – as well as on stage – like a guest soloist for the «Edwin-Bélanger’s philharmonic orchestra» (2010-2011-2012) and « Orchestre Symphonique Pop de Montréal» (2009-2010) and also with the Boogie Wonder Band (2011). He also recorded two classical records with his father and brother, Guy and Antoine Bélanger: O Res Mirabilis (2003) and The March of the kings (2006).
In 2006, he composed the music for the theater play « Independence » of Lee Blessing, which earned him a nomination for the « Bernard Bonnier price », within the Excellence Award for Arts and Culture of Quebec city.
Since 2008, he composed many interludes accompanying Jack Robitaille (actor and vice-president of the « Union des Artistes »), for public readings of classical Greek and Roman texts. These series of readings, organized by the Humanitas Foundation, were presented various times in Montreal, Quebec and Sherbrooke.
