I have been involved in music since the age of four, when I began private piano lessons. Violin lessons were added when I turned seven. During my pre-teen and teenage years, I participated in both Kiwanis music festivals and the annual summer festival at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, winning numerous awards and trophies along the way.
My early vocal experiences involved leading religious services starting at age 13, and singing in my high school choir. During the past 15 years I have led religious services as a vocal soloist and have sung in various choral ensembles.
One of my musical highlights was accompanying world-famous singers at Roy Thomson Concert Hall in Toronto 2008 and 2009. Between 2006 and 2010, I sang tenor in a barbershop quartet called “The Tallmen”. As the tenor lead, I sang in the Shir Harmony choir from 2017 to 2024.
My experiences with vocal music through the years led to being a backup artist on two CDs. My most recent vocal project has been as a singer/songwriter, initially releasing my first single “A Brand New Song For A Brand New Day” in February, 2022. This was followed up by my second single, "A Tribute to the Seventies". This experience has definitely one of my musical highlights! Just received an email from Distrokid on February 10, 2024 confirming that the song was played live on one of iHeart Radio's stations! With Reverbnation, it's great being able to interact with other artists, and receive feedback on my songs! I released my third song called "Prayin' to Heaven", which focuses on my leading of religious services and the concept of prayer to hope for a better world. I released a new song entitled "At a Moment's Notice", which is about suddenly losing my job in May, 2024 and how I felt about it.
I just released a cover version of A Tribute to the Seventies in early March, adding backup vocals to the choruses and outro. I hope you enjoy it!
