I am the daughter of English immigrants. We moved to the United States when I was 2 1/2 years old. My parents always sang, my father played guitar and I grew up with my family singing British folk music. In the 5th grade (around the same time we became naturalized citizens) I was introduced to the youth choir at Millbrae Methodist Church. For the rest of my childhood and into early adulthood, I sang in the youth choir under the mentorship and guidance of Wanda Royse. I can easily say, that Wanda has been one of the biggest influencers of my musical life.
I did not start any type of voice training until after high school. I took 3 years of voice lessons.
I was asked to audition for the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, but did not have the desire to study , at the time, what I believed would be opera music, so I passed. Over the years, I have sang for friends and family at weddings and funerals, but life prohibited me from doing much more. This year (2016) I started to have the feeling of the need to sing and record. I have been afforded that opportunity through another friend and fellow artist, Tina Kyriakis. I only hope that you enjoy my music as much as I enjoyed singing it.
